Cancer Care Support

Cancer Care Support

Cancer Support Services are provided at KMHC for clients and their families. The World Health Organization estimates that 30-50% of all cancers are preventable.

Services available:

  • Cancer screening for cervical cancer (PAP test), colorectal cancer (FIT stool test), Breast Cancer (mammogram), and prostate cancer (PSA blood test)
  • Support during diagnosis and treatment
  • Family support
  • Smoking cessation

Feel free to stop in Room A123 at KMHC to pick up some pamphlets or ask a question.

Additional Information :

There are cancer support group meetings the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm held at Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre second floor & are open to all. The group is a grass roots initiative that began in the 90s and is currently run by community members with the support of Elaine Kezar.

We provide a safe, non-judgemental environment for people to talk about their experiences and listen.
