Accreditation
Accreditation is a continuous process that evaluates healthcare and social services organizations against standards of excellence. It helps identify what is being done well and highlights areas that need improvement.
Every healthcare institution in Canada is legally required to undergo regular evaluations by an external organization.
KMHC’s most recent accreditation survey, conducted by Accreditation Canada, took place from November 29 to December 2, 2021. KMHC was awarded Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest possible designation. Out of 1,193 standards evaluated, KMHC met or exceeded 98.99% of the requirements.
The surveyors praised the staff and Board members for being “truly motivated by community” and “focused on quality.” KMHC is actively using the feedback from the survey to continue improving its processes and policies.
