The program aligns with our Rotinonshón:ni culture, traditions, values and Kanien’kéha language, guided by the teachings of our Ancestors, Elders, Traditional Healers, and Medicine Helpers. Our values of Ka’nikonhrí:io (a good mind), Skén:nen Aonsón:ton (to become peaceful again) and Ka’shasténhsera (strength) guide us in keeping one’s self focused on the attainment of wellness in our body, mind and spirit.
We all walk diverse life journeys that present us with unique challenges that can easily make us feel like we are the only one’s dealing with our struggles. Although the mind and body are often viewed as being separate, physical and mental health are actually closely related. Physical health conditions may affect our mental health, and vice versa, mental health conditions may affect our physical health. No matter what ails you, what is important to know is that you are not alone. Like our ancestors, many have come before you, who have experienced similar hardships and found a way to make it through.
We believe healing our spirit reinforces a connection to our ancestral identity, teachings and original ways to support our well-being. It helps us gain or regain an understanding of one’s connection, embracing the duty to ourselves and our interconnected relationship with all beings.
Spiritual health is achieved when you feel at peace with life. It is when you are able to find comfort in even the hardest of times. It can help to support you as you experience life completely which means to be well spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
Although we understand that spirituality is different for everyone, we are honoured to generously share the wisdom we have been entrusted with, in a confidential and non-judgemental safe space, respectful to each person’s needs.
For those who may be new to the concept of spiritual health or lack a foundation in these teachings, our program provides a gentle and inclusive introduction, ensuring that individuals can explore and integrate spiritual well-being into their lives.
