Position
Teiòntshnie ne Tekanonhkwatsherané:ken (Traditional Medicine Nurse)
Indeterminate (Permanent) Part-Time (21 hours/week)
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Community Care, and the Nurse Coordinator of Tekanonhkwatsherané:ken, the Traditional Medicine Nurse has the responsibility to provide Rotinonhsón:ni cultural education within Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) and to network partners, counselling, support and traditional medicine/ceremonial services to Kahnawa’kehró:non individuals and families within a safe and compassionate environment that honors the wisdom of Rotinonhsón:ni beliefs, language, culture and traditions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Community Health, Mental Health, or Homecare Nursing in Kahnawake
Current licence with the Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ)
Must have knowledge of Rotinonhsón:ni culture, traditions, health and healing practices
Salary
In accordance with the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) reference Code 1911: Echelon 1 $30.27 to Echelon 18 $53.64. per hour, depending on experience.
