Job Summary
The Registered Technologist in Ultrasound (Sonographer) is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing a variety of ultrasound
examinations, (abdominal, pelvic, surface, thyroid, vascular, MSK), requiring independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the application of diagnostic ultrasound. The technologist will observe patient safety practices through the standards of Accreditation Canada and work effectively with other hospital staff, physicians and administration to ensure high quality patient care. This position’s responsibility is to cover the full-time technologist when on vacation and/or sick leave.
Requirements
Must hold a certificate of autonomous practice issued by OTIMROEPMQ.
Must be a member in good standing of the Quebec Order of Medical Imaging, Radiation Oncology and Medical Electrophysiology Technologists.
Experience in Quality Improvement Activities an asset
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as an ultrasound technologist in any medical facility. Able to work independently with radiologist off site.
Salary
In accordance with the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) reference Code 2217
Echelon 1 $28.38 to Echelon 12 $44.05 per hour, depending on experience
