Jordan’s Principle

Jordan’s Principle is a child-first initiative in Canada that ensures First Nations children have equal access to health, social, and educational services. It addresses disparities by providing children with the care they need, regardless of jurisdictional disputes between different levels of government. The principle is named after Jordan River Anderson, a Cree child who passed away while waiting for care.

Parents can use Jordan’s Principle to access services such as medical care, mental health support, educational resources, and respite care.
