KMHC to upgrade its X-Ray system

For immediate release

(Kahnawake – 16, Kentenha/October 2024) Tehsakotitsén:tha Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) wishes to advise its clients, and the community, of changes to its medical imaging services.

In 2018, KMHC purchased and installed a Cassette Receptor Mode (“CR”) X-Ray system. While this was an acceptable choice at the time, technology has since evolved and most centers now utilize the Digital Receptor Mode (“DR”) X-Ray system, which produces higher quality images. For this reason, KHMC is actively preparing to transition our X-Ray system from CR to DR. A timeline for this upgrade has not yet been established.

KMHC will continue to provide many basic X-Ray imaging services; however, there are certain requests that will be redirected to other facilities that utilize DR.

“KMHC‘s Medical Technologists will ensure that the appropriate imaging modality is utilized for our clients and patients,” said Dr. Rachael Eniojukan, KMHC’s Director of Medical Services. “As we all know, technological improvements continue to move at a fast pace, and we have an obligation to make sure we are able to provide services that meet the standards that our clients deserve.”

X-Ray imaging services are available from Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. Appointments can be made by calling 450-638-3930 and pressing extension “6.” Please note that walk-ins are accepted.

KMHC wishes to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation as we work towards improving our imaging capabilities.
