Accreditation
Accreditation is an ongoing process of assessing health care and social services organizations against standards of excellence to identify what is being done well and what needs to be improved.
Every healthcare institution within Canada is legally required to be evaluated by an external organization on an ongoing basis.
KMHC’s last accreditation survey with Accreditation Canada was from November 29th – December 2nd, 2021. KMHC was Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest possible designation. There were 1,193 standards evaluated, and KMHC met or exceeded the requirements for 98.99% of them. The surveyors commended staff and Board members for being “truly motivated by community, [and] focused on quality.” KMHC is moving forward with the feedback from the surveyors and using it to continue to improve KMHC’s processes and policies
